I think I may upgrade to the MacBook Pro 15 incher when I hit the five year month. My display is beginning to flicker and the specs look awesome. Plus my battery capacity is dropping rapidly. I ordered a battery replacement a couple of weeks ago and it was dead on arrival so maybe that was an omen...

MacBook 5,2, 20 months old, upgraded with 4 GB of RAM and a 320 GB Scorpio Blue (probably will bump it to a 500 GB Scorpio Black sometime soon), running 10.6.6.

And, just for fun, I'll include a different metric, which may or may not be at all relevant...

Battery capacity is 83% (4212 mAh out of 5020 mAh) after 475 cycles

This is my second battery - the first one refused to charge after I drained it completely forgetting to shut the computer down when I went on vacation without it. Took it to the Apple store and they gave me a new one for free even though it was out of warranty and I didn't have AppleCare...

I have a new MBA on the way as a replacement, but I think I've gotten my money's worth out of this computer!

Mine is a Black MacBook 3.1, Core 2 Duo, 2.2 age 37 months. It on its second battery, which I purchased from OWC it is a High Capacity 5020 mAh currently charged to 101% With this battery I get almost 6 hours of battery life:eek:
It has 6 GB of OWC Ram,(4+2) and a 320GB 7200 RPM WD Scorpio Black HDD which has served me very well, and as a final upgrade, I will be installing a 256 OWC SSD in mine and as well as my wifes 2.4 BMB,model 4.1, age 29 months, also with 6GB of Ram.

Since they both serve us and our computing needs so well, we decided to perform the last possible upgrade to them, an SSD to get another 2-3 years out of them. BTW they both were referbs I paid $800 each for, one year apart.

Someday we hope to purchase the latest iteration of the MBA, who knows what they will be like when we are ready, and these two BMB's will live on in our Grandaughters hands:cool:

Age: 16 months
Cycles 298

The key is to know how to use the battery right, I killed my last laptops battery by having it plugged in power with battery full for hours, same did my sister, they both hardly was able in the end to keep up half an hour in power save mode.

Take care of your battery and it will take care of you too :)

I should get more cycles on it, just never want to unplug it. Although since my last battery blew up (and then made my Blackbook have one corner higher than the rest, causing an HD crash) I really should unplug it more

Surprised by these results

White Macbook 2,1
Age of your Mac: 43 Months
Battery loadcycles: 864
Current capacity: 4834 mAh
Design capacity: 5020 mAh
96%

I do still get 3 1/2-4 hours per charge when surfing, email, etc. Takes longer to charge, but still very impressive. :)
