Confirmed: iPad 3 Has a 2048x1536 Retina Display

isn't this how think secret was taken down? protect yo neck macrumors...

anyway, looks like apple has another $1000+ of my money
 
But SO many people have been on here saying such a display will NEVER happen... how can this be??!?

I think all portables will look so. Any monitor a couple feet from your eyes will probably not be so harsh. Using the old iPT, it is painful to see the pixelated oldie after having used a retina version.
 
No offence Mac rumours, but considering the apparent confirmed new iPhone design this site blabbed on about and then we got the iPhone 4S.
I shall ONLY consider an iPad 3 display to have been 'confirmed' when Apple announce it! NOT because this site says so.

This IS a rumours site, not a fact site.
 
Am I the only one who cannot "easily make out the pixels" from that photo???

No kidding. The iPhone 4 has ruined me. The iPad2 has a gorgeous display, my 27" iMac has a gorgeous display, but post iP4 all I see are pixels. Fingers crossed we get Retina display Macs this year.

I've been sitting on a $140 rebate visa card I got when I purchased new tires last month and it looks like it will be going towards one of these. :D
 
This doesnt change anything. When competing products are announced with other components and features, like HDMI!... they get shunned. But a relatively usless feature like a apple branded 'retina' display get praised to no end as if its the next best thing since sliced bread. And as if such a naming convention is needed... Retina Display? Seriously? but for arrogance it sure is.. i wonder if Apple patented it..

I don't see the problem with MR getting their hands on it to check it out if they're as easily available as they seem to be. At least there isn't the whole issue of trust when MR post something themselves rather than relying on user submissions. Nobody shouting "FAKE!" etc.
 
I guess its safe to confirm that MacRumors won't be getting any invitations to future Apple events, lol. Just kidding.

I agree. "Possible", "Probable", not "Confirmed".

But you've gotta admit, it's fun to see so many take-my-money people. :rolleyes:
