Resolved 10.7.3 no WiFi after waking from sleep (iMac)

....and it's fixed with the update

Took maybe a bit longer than I would hope for a fix to come out, but it has and it works.

Again, to be clear, this was for a specific configuration (recent iMac) in a specific situation (waking from sleep via wireless keyboard) after installing 10.7.3.

I know a lot of you have other WiFi issues, most of which are not going to be solved by this update. WiFi can be a #(*&_#__ to troubleshoot, this I know.
 
Considerations:
- this issue only occurs on some, not all, systems with Lion
- this issue does not seem to occur on systems that came with Lion pre-installed, only on systems upgraded to Lion
- downgrading to Snow Leopard resolves the issue for people suffering from it

As has been suggested previously, it is not so much an issue in Lion as an issue with the upgrade process for some people. I have upgraded 7 machines from Snow Leopard to Lion and my machine is the only one that had this issue.

The theory suggests that the old Airport config doesn't get migrated correctly or is corrupted causing the upgrade to partially fail. It might be that Apple has already fixed the migration process in 10.7.4. However, if you upgraded from Snow Leopard to a pre-10.7.4 (like I did) the config is still corrupted and applying 10.7.4 later can't fix that.

However, I successfully fixed the issue on my machine.
The first step is to create a new 'Location' under 'Network Preferences' and use that as default. I have deleted all old locations, don't know if that is necessary though.

The second step is to follow Apple's advice in Troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues in OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6
Expand the 'Solution' section under 'Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly' and follow the steps listed under 'Symptom: After restarting or waking from sleep, my computer might not connect to the Internet'
Just make sure you write down all the passwords for the networks you want to keep as deleting the keys in keychain will permanently remove them.

After I followed above steps and re-entered the Wi-Fi networks I want it to automatically connect to, Lion always connects. The issue is resolved.
