MacAddict collect? Missing some

Hi Falstaff (and others?),

I am interested in a collection of MacAddict CD's. I've got about 70% now but looking for the remainder.

I can't PM yet because I only have two of five (now three) posts. But I think you can PM me if you see this.

Please let me know if you are willing to trade or share your extras. Esp. trying to determine when the paper sleeves stopped and restarted, and also how many "Special" CD-ROMs were made.

Say, You guys wouldn't be interested in an almost complete collection of MacAddict cd's, would you? Actually have several duplicates as well. A lot of it is OS7, 8 & 9 stuff but there is some OS X stuff (games, utilities and trial software) as well. I also have an almost double set of Mac Cube cd set from Aztech software. Though it's all OS7 stuff on them.

Let me know and pm me a mailing address and I'll send them too you.

I really meant that offer to the creators of the powerpc software database. Before I make any decision otherwise, I really need to hear from them.

Does anyone happen to have a copy of the Mathematica 6 or 7 trial or installer DVD/DMG?

I wanted to give everyone an update on how this is coming. I have gathered about 200 applications to put online. They will be put on the server. We will then have to add categories, descriptions, authors, URLs, external mirrors, etc. If you can help with this and have an account at the archive, please PM me.

As for the error messages that are pulled up, I hope to resolve that by the end of the week.

You know, I like that you show the files but you cannot download until you register. Keep it like that :D

Sorry, I should be way more clear. I manually activated your account a while back. I will send out emails to everyone who has registered thus far.

However, you say that you can't log in. I will investigate this.

OK, you should be able to log in. I am working right now to fix the email issues.

This may help.

You can get the last macaddict cd 125 at

http://archive.org/download/macaddict-cd-125/MacAddict_125_2007_01.iso

I'd suggest getting that one first because it has the cumulative MacAddict CD Catalog (1-125) inside. The program to open this file is DiskTracker but if you have an intel mac, use the latest version from their website, not the one on the CD: http://www.disktracker.com/download.shtml

The MacAddict CD Catalog from cd125 contains the complete list of contents of all the MacAddict CDs. I converted it to text and it went to over 4000 pages in 9 point! I think I prefer the DiskTracker version.

You used to be able to get the macaddict cds 1-50 at http ://www.mediafire.com/oldmacarchive

but it seems to be down now

Issues 51, 93-95, 111-116 are at http://archive.org/browse.php?collection=cdbbsarchive&field=year

Look in years 2000 and 2004-2006 for these.

This may help.

You can get the last macaddict cd 125 at the following four segmented sitx files:

http://www.mediafire.com/?8b6ojjolt6d74jd

http://www.mediafire.com/?myc08g5p140t1y9

http://www.mediafire.com/?kovgj796mkae9j3

http://www.mediafire.com/?7794ag3zi5kjaun

Just uncompress once they are all downloaded and mount or burn the resultant toast image file.

You can get macaddict cd1-50 at http://www.mediafire.com/oldmacarchive

Just click on oldmacarchive\cd-roms\macaddict

and you will find them there.

1-80, 82, 84-88, 100, 119-125 have also just been added to archive.org as well:

http://archive.org/search.php?query=collection:macaddict_coverdiscs&sort=-publicdate

There used to be a torrent for 1-110 but it's gone dead. No seeds!!! (and 18 missing i.e., 5, 67, 74, 111-125)

These cd archives however are now nearly matching the old torrent (21 missing i.e., 81, 83, 89-92, 96-99, 101-110, 117)

So if you can dig out your old macaddict cds and see if you have 81, 83, 89-92, 96-99, 101-110, 117 it'd be really good if you can image and upload so that we can finally have them ALL online! (despite the old torrent going dead)

missing Sleeves (and CDs) of MacAddict #77 (2003)+

As noted the first batch went out on archive.org. Sleeves not scanned yet but I guess it was figured it was better to get them out early.

Still missing sleeves for 2003+ although I can't confirm if anyone actually has them -- i.e. if they were made.

I'm hoping to get 2003-2005 in a week or so which will leave 2006 and the following missing:
- Ultra iMac Pak
- Ultimate How-To Disc
- 5th Anniversary DVD

(I have Super Software Pak 3 )

As noted above some of these are available online but I would still like to get a physical copy to keep consistent the ripping and scanning formats.

If anyone has one of those three discs above or 2006 set of discs, or any sleeves for 2003+ and are willing to loan or donate for eventual archive.org posting please PM me.

Thanks

MacAddict CD's with sleeves and without?

At what issue do the paper sleeves stop in your collection?

I am still looking for issues from 2003 and on with sleeves (or inserts if they were made that way at the end.) Can anyone donate those to me for archiving?

As noted these go to archive.org. I believe the allow deep linking too, which means that posting them there will benefit many different archiving sites.

Do you have a jewel case on any of yours? How about a Jewel Case insert? I think I've seen that pictured online for #125 but am not 100%. Perhaps the jewel case insert was shipped and they expected end users to use their own -?

Can you help me getting

Looked through my Mac Addict cds and I have just about all of them up to 107. Some I even have duplicates of.

http://4unitmaths.com/macaddictcds.html

118 is already there too and 113-116, 119-124 are already on archive.org so this completes it for 2006.

PowerPC land
Impressive! Very nice! I have tons of PPC stuff I'd like to provide for the serve, including all the diagnostic and ASD's for all PowerPC machines. And for those with MDD machines, I have the original 6 disc set - a MUST for those with MDD machines who need that special OS 9 in order to boot natively.

Also, since http ://www.mediafire.com/oldmacarchive went dead I thought that it would be good to upload 1-50 again elsewhere as a backup.

However I since discovered that this won't be necessary because 1-56 are also on http://www.max1zzz.co.uk/servers.html
