Apple is pushing for everyone to enable file vault. Just notice that during the first login. Glad that they're suggesting to keep everyone their Mac secure

JUST FOUND: New download progress bar for Launchpad! Image attachment for those who wants to see.

Personally, I think it's far too low and it looks too dark (But probably to match up with the dots) and it's a bit too long, if they fix those issues, it will be better! :)

They dont provide change logs?

Any fixes for external monitor staying black when waking a macbook pro? Or the black webcam video issue? Or the external usb sound cards not usable after sleep?

Not sure I like the redesigned System Preferences; the "Show All" button just looks messy, kinda like it shouldn't be there. It also seems pretty vestigial, when you search you get a clear search button which fulfils the same purpose, which means the only time you need to show all is when you're actually in a preference panel, in which case a back-button seems more logical. Even better though would be a sidebar of some kind, so you can still get other preferences quickly.

DP5 has new volume and brightness HUDs, and they look terrible!

EDIT: Added Dark Mode screenshot

They were always terrible. Ditch the big icon and move volume (at least volume!) to the bottom of the screen, in a compact row like TVs have done since the 1800s. Adjusting volume during a video shouldn't cover a huge chunk of your presentation and linger for several seconds.

EDIT: I guess they ARE lower now. It's a welcome change. Still too big! Make a compact volume row, please.

Any way to upgrade from Public Beta to either DP4 or DP5, with a valid developer license? I have DP1 downloaded still, but I'm assuming the OS wouldn't let me install that because it's a "previous version."

If I update to OS X Yosemite Dev 5 will I lose all the apps I have on Mavericks? Sorry, silly question!

You can now show the full website url in Safari :D

They do listen!

EDIT: damn ccard3dev beat me to it

Today tab in Notification Center still shows Tornado Watch for anyone living in outside the U.S (At least as far as I know) Counts for Weather tab too.

New Safari preference to show full web address:
Yay! :D
Would you be so kind to test, after you have some sites in your history, etc, if typing in the address box no longer lags (e.g. t<lag>h<lag>verge.com). It is easier to check when deleting, e.g., typing theverge.com/aaaaa and then continuosly pressing backspace and seeing if the therverge gets removed as quickly as the 'a's.

They do listen!
I'm hoping that all those bug reports that I submitted with screenshots and samples will at least be read :p

It still lags when typing the first part of the URL

have you looked outside?

Haha yes, according to The Weather Channel's weather information, there are tornadoes here in Norway every day! I don't know if it counts for other places in Europe but as I switch my location to the United States, it shows the current weather conditions and so on. :(
