iPod touch ***need help with GMAIL set up***

i have a jailbroken Touch version 1.1.3

I am trying to set up a Gmail accnt into mail.
ive input all the fields and did it the exact way as per instructions on gmail's website.

my IMAP is ENABLED.
on the buttom of the screen when i press on MAIL in the ipod, it says downloading..and then it shows that its been updated with current date/time

but at top it's not showing any messages in INBOX.
it only says 'Load 25 More Messages..."

can anyone please help resolve this>?:eek::eek::eek:

umm- I know this is not an answer, but why not just use the internet browser for Gmail? - that is what I do....

remove "read 24 new e-mails"?

title should be remove "load 24 new messages" message

I set up our touch with CenturyTel DSL. It sends/receives fine but I also get the "load 24 message" message and it shows we have over 2,000,000 messages unread. I can not get help from provider or Apple to remove this message (messages). They pass the buck to each other.
Did you get rid of the message? Thank you.
