iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak update!!!!

This is great, as I'm going to get a iPhone next month I was beginning to wonder lately when a 5.1 jailbreak would potentially be out. Would hate to have to be on stock for a bit.

Pod2g has announced that the Chronic Dev-Team now has all the exploits required to release a userland jailbreak of iOS 5.1.

News: we have all exploits required to do a new jailbreak. I'm working on bypassing ASLR at bootup.

Last month Pod2g said that the team only had a few pieces of a userland jailbreak. Now that the team has them all, it will still take some time to put them together in a public ready tool.

I am as excited as you guys are but let's not get our hopes up just yet.
 
Saw this today. I think it'll take at least 3-5 weeks for a tool, but I always remain secretively optimistic.
 
Hopefully it would be released by next month. But hey wouldn't mind waiting a bit since I already am waiting.

I haven't jailbroke my iPhone or iPad in about a year. I will this time for two reasons:

Tethering and a cursor for the iPad! Maybe it'll replace my laptop!
 
Months away? Not sure why they would even waste their time. iOS 6 will be out by then. Kinda weird knowing there's a possibility of the new iPhone in 5 months or so. Year went by so quick.

As the Chronic-Team earlier mentioned that they have got a userland jailbreak exploit, the iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak that will be released by them should work on iPad 3, iPad 2G, iPad, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G and iPod touch 3G.

Says it right there in the posted article.

Kudos to the team if they can release it before my vacation ends :p
 
Well... One step closer, at least (according to his tweet today):

"ASLR seems bypassed! Weird machines FTW. Time to ROP the payload."

This might come at just the right time. I am considering jumping ship for a galaxy nexus phone. The iphone is just becoming too dated for me. BUUUUT if the jailbreak comes and works better than the 5.0.1 one did I may be able to stay.
