Will apple allow you to make calls from the ipad mini

This is a question which I have been thinking about for a long time but I couldn't make a final decision.
They might include it because it will be a positive selling point.
They might not include it because if they do it would ruin the point of buying an iPhone.
What do you think they will do?:apple::apple::apple:
 
Look at the phone functionality in the current iPad. That is what you would get.

I am trying to say that many of the android tablets allow you to make calls right? so maybe to compete with them apple will allow u to make calls
 
Do any 7 inch tablets natively include calling abilities? I don't think they do. I know a lot of Android tablet owners download Google Voice and Skype and things like that, but as far as natively dialing out over a cellular network, you'd be hard pressed to find that capability in a tablet. It's bad enough people look ridiculous taking photos with tablets, just imagine how they'd look making calls with one! And I know, bluetooth could be an option, but I just don't see tablet phone calls being used by virtually anyone.

I disagree the Samsung galaxy tab 2 includes calling abilities and many android tablets do include calling abilities but you have a point people will look ridiculous talking on a tablet

I am talking about a default application provided by apple to allow u to make calls
 
No tablets have native calling abilities. If that were true, you would be able to sign up for a voice plan from one of the major carriers.

OP, what phone call functionality do you see in the current iPad? There's your answer, not really that complicated.

Agreed, I don't think the iPad mini will have phone capabilities.

Some tablets do have native calling abilities like the samsung galaxy tab 1/2.
And a few others
 
Even if they do, would you want to put your main line on your tablet? I wouldn't put my Galaxy Nexus sim in any tablet. It's essentially a useless feature because it wouldn't be used full time, IMO.

What do you mean by "native"?

Native to me means being able to dial out across a mobile (cellphone if you're in the USA) network in exactly the same way as a phone.

Other than that it's Skype, Viber et all to make VOIP calls.

Native in this context means having a phone app installed by the OS like the iPhone has. If you have to install something it's not native.

Bajarocks, the mini will have the same native calling abilities of any other iPad.
 
iPad mini - expected to cost $200-$250.

unlocked iPhone 4s - $649

unlocked 3Gs - $375

iPod Touch - no phone
iPad - no phone

So no, not a chance. None at all.
 
Yeah, tablets marketed for the USA have native calling removed, but as mentioned earlier a lot of tablets' international versions allow you to use your SIM to make phone calls/text.

About as silly as all those people holding ipads to take pictures too lol. That has to be the dumbest thing I have seen yet. People holding 10 inch camera so why not phones? But no if there is an ipad mini I would say no to a native phone app.
