Whether it's the mini or 4th gen, is this your first iPad?

Well, considering I preordered the 4th gen in a 32 gb size this morning, it'll be my first iPad ever! I chose this over the mini because I'm hoping to use it as a replacement over my 4 year old HP laptop. Granted, I do have a desktop running both OS X Mountain Lion and Windows 7 so I won't lose functionality of a real computer. But come Friday, I'm gonna be stoked. This baby is going overseas with me to Japan for Christmas and New Years!

I know many of you have owned iPads previously, but who is getting their's for the first time?? :D
 
Throwing kindle fire out. First iPad. I am going to get a mini. I'll still be happy with the kindle-like size but with iOS!
 
I want an iPad but I dont want it to be heavy.

I would get the mini but it does not have Retina.

So iam waiting for the iPad 5 which will have the new form factor.

Big Retina Screen while being thinner and lighter.
 
Well I didn't get a mini or a 4, instead bought a iPad 3 refurb 16GB. It's my first iPad as well.
 
My first iPad was the iPad 2, I sold it and never got another one. Got it I think a week or two after the release date.

This time around I canceled my Sprint phone contract early saving me $1200 (subtracting the termination fee.) Also got my bonus at work, and I got more money from selling my Galaxy S2. Switched to a prepaid service and I wanted something for at home that I could satisfy my desire for touchscreen goodness.
 
The mini will be my fourth, and once it arrives ill have 2 iPads, as I'm keeping the 9.7" iPad for house duties.
 
I've had every iPad thus far on day one. The 4th gen will be the exception. I think I'm going to be much happier with the mini though.

I am on the same boat. I have every single one of Apple product since iPhone.

But the danger is, if people like myself get used to not upgrading, will Apple lose its revenue growth? (fanboy growing up LMAO)

I was a little worried about weight, but I think the iPad4's retina, size and processing power will e better for general home use.


What do you think? I'm excited!

I think you made a good choice. Lots of people never have their 9.7-inch iPad leave their homes most of the time. And for your uses, 16GB is fine.

Enjoy it!
 
This will be my first ipad.. looking at the 4th Gen.. larger screen, new chip, and i should have by the end of the year.. maybe sooner... I can't technically rule out the mini as i haven't held it to see the size but i've always liked the larger of the two..

It gets heavy after a while

Get a case that acts a stand , like those 360 degree rotating cases


Like this , sits comfortable in your lap

If i get the Mini or the 4th Gen it will be my 4th iPad i've owned!

1 - 1st Gen Wifi - 3G ATT Black 32GB

2 - 2nd Gen Wifi - White 32 - 64GB* don't remember lol.

3 - 3rd Gen Wifi - White 64GB

4 - Mini or 4th Gen Wifi - White 64GB!
 
Indeed this will be my first iPad. A 32GB mini. :D The price was the biggest stopgap before and figured it was the perfect opportunity to dive right in.
 
I had a 16GB wifi + 3G iPad 2 and I currently have a 32GB wifi + 4G/LTE iPad 3.

The 16GB wifi iPad mini I ordered today is for my mom. It will be her first iPad.

Will be buying at least 2 minis as gifts & for me - yep, iPad 3 was my first. :cool:
 
I've had generations 1 thru 3, got rid of the first one. I swore I didn't need the mini but once I demo it, well things change.
 
Mini is going to be my first, I'm hoping to use it a lot instead of my black MacBook on campus and just around. I'm incredibly excited, going to line up for the black 32 gb :D
