Should I get a 2.6 GHz 15" MBPr?

I was thinking about the possibility of selling my late 2013 MBPr 13" 2.6/8/256 for a MBPr 15" 2.6/16/512 because of PC gaming.

I want to be able to play games like Titan Fall and CoD Ghosts at the highest possible resolution and settings and obviously I can't do it without dedicated graphics. I do have an Xbox One but I'm guessing the MBPr would be better graphics as I saw a video saying PC gaming is better.

My idea is to hook it up to my projector and play on my big screen.

A 2.3GHz will suit you fine, because you'll hit the graphics bottleneck well before the processor bottleneck.

I have a 2.6/16/1TB/750M variant and can play BF4 at 1680x1050, mix of high and ultra, FXAA and 16xAF at 47-50 fps on average, with the lowest being 35 fps and easily shooting past 60 fps in quite a number of situations.

Don't try playing it at 2880x1800 though, the GPU can't do that. I don't think a 4GB GTX780M can do that either.
 
I'd also recommend resetting the SMC, if the fans are not going, that may be the cause of the high temps

Do you think if I hooked it up via HDMI to my projector it would look better than my Xbox One? I might wait for next gen and hopefully the GPU can handle 2880x1800 :D

Only if you use the RMBP in clamshell mode.

The 750M can handle about 1680x1050, but push it to 1920x1080 and you'll have to lower some settings.

So short answer, you can do that but I wouldn't expect stellar results.
