I have a late 2013 13" and I use to hate full screen, but now I use it ALL the time on Chrome and I love browsing full screen.

I have a magic mouse which I use to swipe easily to the desktop page.

On movies/videos (so safari, iTunes, BBC iPlayer, etc) and Lightroom/Photoshop

Any other time I am normally iMessaging while working/playing so make room for it's window.

Xcode, Safari, a custom monitoring dashboard.
Other desktops are sprinkled with terminal windows and smaller tools.

I don't know what full screen has to be do with Windows. Might as well compare it to killing babies.

Only those apps where it's absolutely necessary, FCPX, Logic Pro, or where you don't get a choice. I hate full-screen displays.

The fullscreen transition animation makes me want to vomit so I try to avoid it. I don't know how apple let that past QA...

For the most part I keep my main desktop with a few windows open and I keep the Mail app full screen one swipe away. I also watch videos full screen whenever I'm watching them, but those obviously aren't permanently open.

I just started using multiple desktop spaces on mission control to run Xcode in full screen. It's nice to use the 3 finger swipe over to get back into iTunes or whatever other apps I have open on my main desktop.

Mail and calendar are always always fullscreened for me, as well as iTunes and any virtual machines. I love full screen mode.
