I will say those look really nice and I can this fitting in my bedroom better then what I currently have (a gas fireplace in the corner).
I wonder how strong and resistant to being bent/broken it is, if someone were to bump or fall into it?
I'd call it a fire hazard, at least in the photos showing it installed. There shouldn't be wood walls behind and beside it, nor on the floor behind it. It would never pass inspection in my neck of the woods.

Heh, very much a matter of opinion. Depends on the scale/size of the room, I guess. You'll note that the example photos tend to be in huge, high-ceiled, furniture-free rooms.
Have encountered dangly fireplaces a couple of times in summer holiday lets, so they remained unused, but I reckon a) they must be a complete bastard to keep clean, and b) if you've got a child under the age of around four then you must live in constant fear of them barbecuing their hands on the metal.
I've got a great space-saving idea for a fireplace: build it into a wall. It'll never catch on, I guess...

as far as kids around it, it is a non-issue
having grown kids around wood-burning, cast-iron ovens and fireplaces of various shapes and forms, children learn very early, as soon as they start to walk and speak, what is the meaning of "hot". a simple, unique, easy to learn word, maybe for a reason. never had any sort of accident. of course a minimum of vigilance is always required, but if a 4 years old puts their hand on a scalding surface when the fire is on inside, there is something wrong with the parents.
