Bought by son a rMBP for college. Also got a kensington lock for him at Best Buy only to find out the rMBP doesn't have a kensington slot. How are you guys locking up your computers?

Apple is too chic for locks. Did you send your son to a decent college?

I have a dim view of those locks. Sure they prevent the opportunistic thief, but if someone really wanted the laptop, all they have to do is a quick tug and the lock would easily pull free from the soft aluminum

if I had 3000 dollars in a box, I would never leave it unattended. if its in his dorm room and he is worried about it getting stolen I would suggest a safe. im sure he has other valuable things that can be stored in there as well.
