Can I clone my SR MBP HDD to my new Penryn MBP HDD with SuperDuper!?

So I bought and have been using a SR MBP for the last few weeks, but recently decided to upgrade to the new Penryn MBPs and return the "old" SR MBP.

I have the SR MBP hard drive backed up to an external drive using SuperDuper! and I was wondering - can I simply clone the backup drive over to the new Penryn with no problems? Will there be any driver inconsistencies with the new chip and multitouch? Or is it better to use migration assistant? I've also got a Windows XP partition on the old SR MBP drive - can I winclone that over as well?

I would love to be able to just clone the thing over and pick up where i left off if possible!
 
oh i donno, therd have to be some different drivers in there somewhere. especially in regards to the CPU. when you install OSX it only installs the drivers for whatever hardware your running, not say a different CPU/GPU.

a better idea would be to backup your HD using time machine onto your external, then re-install OSX on the new penryn laptop, and choose to restore it from a time machine backup.

Don't back up the system files and you'll be fine. However you wont have a bootable/complete image in the end.

Time machine is good enough to detect differences in system files and not overwrite them. (i went from 2.33 MBP to 2.4 MBP. No problems) Exclude Library and System under preferences. When it asks you if you want to exclude applications, that is your choice. I chose yes, and cleaned a lot of programs that I dont use anymore.
