That image was originally posted on Twitter by user Robin P yesterday morning. This morning, it was reposted on MacRumors Forums by some dude by the nick of guigsh. This guy—a "macrumors newbie"—forgot to put the text that came along the original photo in Twitter:

Une photo comme ça pourrait rendre des sites fous... #iPhone5 http://yfrog.com/khvnep

In English: "A picture like that could make fools of sites..."

And so it did.

You make your own conclusion. We obviously made our own already.

The lesson here: Don't believe in Apple rumors, people. Specially blurry ones posted on Twitter with quotes that indicate it's a fake.
'nuff said.

Where are the volume buttons?

Why is the rest of the image pixelated?

Why does the iphone seems to be floating?

It looks looks like a fake:(

I can't believe people think this is real haha!

That's funny, pixelated hands. I can just imagine the Apple police going around inspecting people's hands.

Actually, if you look closely, you can see the whole picture is pixelated. The only thing that is in focus is the phone. Therefore I expect somebody has taken a low res photo of somebody holding a different phone, resized it and pasted in their idea of what an iPhone 5 will look like over the top.

---rolleyes---

Except everyone working with prototype iPhones would be required to sign an NDA, making the photographing of said devices extremely illegal. There would absolutely be a cease and desist order.
Uh, violating an NDA is a breach of contract not "against the law".

If that is the forthcoming iPhone 5 then I am quite disappointed. Looks pretty ugly to me with the rounded edges, I prefer the 'squarish' design of the iPhone 4. Am I the only person that thinks this?
No. iPh 4 is the first smartphone I was ever interested in owning. If they go back to the rounded edges, I'll be plenty happy with my 4 for many moons to come.
Why are the hands so pixelated and the Phone is not?
See, the phone is real. The hands were photoshopped. That's it!

Hello members,

Just thought I'd share the EXIF data from the photo:

It indicates that is a creation of Photoshop which supports the idea that it is fake.

Although we know it's fake, being "created" in Photoshop means nothing

If you simply resize and save, the exif will say this

I agree, but I don't see why anyone would need to use photoshop to resize, when it can be done on MS Paint [or the Mac alternative, not sure what its called] in a matter of seconds. If photoshop is being used I suspect the creator of the image is doing more than just resizing. Of course what I'm saying is pure speculation, but there you go, its a theory ;)

i wish everyone would shut the hell up and stop saying they don't care. Cause just like everyone else on here ya do!

Don't know if you took these pictures down or what, but they are showing up as a ? in safari and chrome.

OP did say he adjusted the image for a better view :) so its not a big find. He could have used photoshop to flip the pic [ i 100% believe the pic is fake ]

Apple usually doesn't make mistakes like this.

Look at the attached picture. Compare the screen size to the line in the iPhone's surrounding metal band. Now look at any other iPhone 4. Also, note the rounding in the back of the iPhone in the picture.
Apple is meticulous about their product representations. Nowhere else can I see an iPhone 4 with a screen like the one in the picture.

I used PhotoShop to resize all my images.

Well, you could use paint to resize and then when you would look it up, it would say the image would be edited in paint, and then everyone would still be screaming it is fake.

Did anyone noticed anything wrong with the index finger (fingernail)? shouldn't it be hide with that position, right?

That phone looks fat. I think apple would try to reduce the size not the other way. It could be possible that it was an sloppy photoshop work
