'iTunes Producer 2.6' Appears in OS X Software Update

Developers simply use the built-in uploader in Xcode most of the time, though 😉
Like others said, it's an error from Apple's end. It's not showing here, and I have *everything* already.

Umm. So can one use this to encode movie metadata for movies so it appears in a similar format as iTunes purchases. Ie shoe director/ actor/ ratings on apple tv

The issue has most definitely been resolved. Those of you who AREN'T devs or whatever and installed by mistake i'd strongly recommend to restore from a Time Machine backup as you're not meant to have it.

It is an older icon... though I'd say it's still in keeping with current OS X icons - just not the new ones that Apple has been using recently. (Launchpad, Mission Control, etc.)
I think it's a nice icon, and I really miss that style. But many of Apple's icons haven't changed since 2001 - iCal, Chess, Font Book, Mail, Preview, Stickies, TextEdit, etc.
I just deleted it and then this, Apple accidentally pushes iTunes Producer 2.6 out to public http://www.ipodnn.com/articles/12/03/20/vendor.software.appears.on.software.update/

I really want direct access to submitting content to the itunes store but as an independent musician I'm always forced to use intermediaries.
And those intermediaries want a large cut of cash and it becomes difficult to submit as much as I could as a result.
It almost sounds like I could create a vendor ID and submit my content to the itunes store using this utility.

I have iTunes Producer 2.5.1 (I have a seller account at the iBookstore). Running SU now to see if I'll get the update.
Edit - it is not in my SU, but several other things were. I'll put those on first and try again.
Edit2 - still not in SU, but I do have a link to d/l it via the iTunes Connect web page.
