Just looking at last year's thread and wanted to provide a place to discuss football for the 2012 season. Yes, I know it is only July, but I am exited to see what Brain Johnson does as OC, and how Jordan Wynn does fully healthy for the University of Utah Utes! Who are you cheering for?

Yeah, I have had season tickets to Utah football since 2002. Fun to see those games (probably not so much for you !) But, I really do hope they get better this year.

Ram football was good in the mid 90s and early 2000s. When I started school there in 03, they went downhill lol

I'm hoping for another big season from Michigan State. People keep saying how important it will be to replace Cousins, but he was such a slightly above average QB with a phenomenal personality that his talent and decision making (or at times, lack thereof) get overlooked.

I think the 4th year redshirt Junior QB, Andrew Maxwell, who is taller and stronger, will be just fine. It also helps to have an outstanding defense and running backs to help him out.

Bit worried about the Boise game - even with their graduated NFL talent being gone. They've proved time and time again to be the best team in the country at executing when given ample time to game plan.

It's my last year here at UW, I was happy we won the Holiday Bowl the year before last. Locker is long gone playing for the Titans. I feel good about this year! Husky Stadium is being renovated for the next 2 years though... damn.

It won't be impossible for you to make it to a BCS bowl, but it's definitely going to be an uphill climb after you lose the first game of the season...

I'm probably the only one of my friends who has legitimate concern for Boise. Even though BSU has graduated plenty of key talent, they should have enough in the tank to compete. They also game plan better than any team in the country when given the time to do so.

I'll still take Sparty by a few TDs once the defense settles in.

A few?! I admire your confidence, however misplaced.

To be perfectly honest, I have NO idea what to expect out of Boise State this season. Michigan State is going to be our toughest opponent, by far. The rest of our schedule is terrible. And I mean terrible even compared to our past schedules.

I'm not concerned too much about our defense. We have some great young talent that's going to step up this season. The biggest question is at quarterback. We have a fairly solid O-Line coming back, so at least there should be decent protection for whoever our starter is. I'm thinking it's going to to be Joe Southwick. He was Moore's back-up for the past two seasons.

Regardless of who our new QB will be, it will be a completely different offense than what we've had for the past four years. All four candidates that are battling for the starting job are dual threat QBs, so regardless of who it is we will see a completely different offense.

I guess we'll find out in nine days!!

Two days from the start of the season!

It's going to be brutal for me this year. We ditched cable tv about nine months ago because we were just wasting money. We very rarely watched tv. It was a lot easier to make the decision because college football had just ended. Now I'm starting to panic a bit.
