I think you have something mixed up. The latest(current) version of iDVD is v7 AFAIK. There is an iMovie 11 though.

I think.....
if you can export the proyect in any format iMovie manages, then iMovie can handle the proyect or the video. If my memory works, iDVD uses MPEG-2 for video, so maybe Final Cut in some version can handle the video too.

If you are just needing the movie element of an iDVD Project, then Right/Ctrl click and select "Show Package Contents".
Open the Contents folder, then the Resources folder. I use iMovie, so my movie content is in the iMovie folder.

I don't want to access just the movies. I want to move the whole project to another program given that Apple does not care about their customers' work.
