A few texts , YouTube videos, taking pictures, scrolling Instagram and taking pictures, moderate use of twitter, maybe around 2 hours on wifi and the rest on 3G. I have email set to " manually" locations services turned off and most of all my apps are in my notification center.

That's impressive battery life there! Hope it remain this good for as long as possible!

It all depends how you use it. Try to stay on wifi as much as possible. Location services heavily drains battery. That's maybe the biggest thing that has saved my battery is turning it off.

Yes, I have location services off (auto location tweak), mail to manual, brightness to 40%, but I'm also jailbroken with about 25+ tweaks, and I'm thoroughly impressed with my 4S. I may not be using the phone to its full capabilities by having stuff off or set to manual, but I'm getting the full capabilities of the battery :)

I find with a low brightness setting and wifi will get you around 10-11hrs usage. At least for me it does.

It is kind of amazing how it gets far superior battery when it actually has the same battery size in it. Must be due to how all the other technology in the device comes together.

That's the one thing surprising about the iPhone 5. 7+ hours of usage? Pretty good.

Not scientific but under pretty similar use the iPhone 4 had the best battery life, followed by 5 with the 4s being the worst.

I went from the 4 to the 5, and I'd disagree. I actually think the 5 has noticeably better battery life. It's not night and day, but it's definitely better.

And my 4 was solid.

Agreed...I've owned the 4, 4s, and now the 5--of all, the 5 seems to be a completely different phone. I didn't have any 'issues' with the 4s as some did...but the 5 has been noticeably best of the three. It's been excellent. My stats are identical to the OP..and have been since launch day when I purchased it
It's got to have something to do with the new chip, the A6--& it's better efficiency. The screen difference and its use of energy? Not sure, but it's excellent.

I'm actually getting record battery life on my 4S as well (5.1.1). My original 4S was from last October, so one of the earlier production models. I recently got it replaced at Apple and the new one has been amazing.
