My MacBook is booting again
Hello,
My MacBook Unibody- 1342 Late-2009 got frozen during utilisation and when trying to reboot it it was getting stuck at the grey Apple logo with the spinning wheel.
After having tried the SMC end PRAM resets recommended everywhere and the Safe mode boot, reseated the RAM, trying to boot from the installation DVD without any luck I decided to use only one RAM module at a time. The MAC booted without any problem (quite slow behaviour with only 1 GB RAM) with each of the two RAM modules in each of the two slots. So every 1 GB module works in each of the slots, but not both of them at a time.
I installed both RAM modules in an HP and in a Toshiba PCs and both of them booted without problems. As the HP is quite recent and has 6 GB RAM with higher speed its RAM didnt work with the MacBook. The Toshiba has one 2 GB RAM module and when I installed it in the MacBook, it booted fine.
So I have now the Toshiba working fine with the original MacBook RAM and the MacBook working fine with the original Toshiba RAM.
Could you please share your thoughts about the possible reason for this misbehaviour of the original RAM of the MacBook?
Could this be a sign that something is going to happen with either the MacBook or the RAM?
