Nobody can even come close to Apple with those iPad spots. White iPad on white background, minimalism, zen, no irritating ads....Superb.

This was really annoying. This is really bad compared to Google's Christmas video. Not being a hater but I think Google did a better job at making a Christmas special video.

What was annoying about it?

It must have taken a while to find a girl who:

1. can sing (sort of well)
2. can play the ukulele (quite well)
3. is cute.

How are they propping up their iPads like that in the videos? Apple doesn't make a stand that can prop an iPad vertically.

Apple is beginning to make weak commercials.. when jobs was around i was always impressed with the sound score behind the commercial as well as the storyline/outline of the commercial. not to creative anymore. seems like there trying to hard

No. This commercial means Apple is not trying too hard.

It has a pretty simple storyline.

Consumers want simple and clear.

Anyone seeing this ad wants to by both the iPad and the iPad Mini.

Just ask any kid. It's their number 1 wish for Christmas.

----------

too bad its impossible to find a ipad mini at this time at a store or online

Just keep coming back to the store.

You can also pre-order it online, to be delivered to your Apple store of choice.

----------

These commercials are too soft.

C'mon Apple. We don't need transformers and explosions, but tighten up a bit...

Apple is selling iPads to women too.

----------

Oh give me a break. It's funny and edgy. Anyway, the S-Beam one where the wife beams her hubby a naughty video "you probably should't watch it on the plane" as he gets in a cab is better. Identical concept that's more acceptable to hyper sensitive people I guess.

And if you could "bump" iPhones (using NFC, not that cheezy app) to share videos, pics and stuff, people would swoon like it was the second coming. Just saying.

There's an app for bumping iPhones and sharing photos and stuff.

Of course, the easiest thing to do - particularly for large groups - is to just send videos via the Messages app. Then you don't have to bother with bumping.

Steve Jobs didn't ever make the music scores or the ads. Also, have you HEARD the music in the "Get a Mac" ads? It's weird baby music. But the ads were good.

----------

It isn't stupid if it makes Apple BILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

Justin Bieber makes people billions of dollars, but his music is stupid. Same with some other people like Lil' Wayne. Windows makes MS billions of dollars, but it's retarded.

Hehe, the TMobile ads where they don't even use a tripod come to mind. The shaking camera is irritating. Also, the Motorola things... http://droiddoes.com says it all. EDIT: It used to have cheesy audio with a robot talking about how it's powerful and stuff, but not anymore. But it's still tacky.

Some of you.... Too ***** funny.

I find the ad - Brilliant.

Funny is how your perceived thinking takes some of you to a place of negativity.

I'll tell u why it's brilliant. I myself bought my 90 year old Uncle an iPad and my separately my 86 year old Aunt.

When they both used FACETIME they literally had tears in their eyes how technology brought them together with such ease even tho they were hundreds of miles apart. Being next to them marveling at the technology was priceless.

So very few of you get the concept of the ad. That's what's sad.

Apples running a gyration of different ads, tons in fact. There is differentiation for reasons most here don't grasp. The Samesung comparisons are just as stupid. Apple makes no comparisons in the current ad crop, why are any of you?

For the record, the "tap together" Samsung ads could be made into a total SNL comedy skit, think about it. Two guys force tapping the phones and they fall apart lol. Or how about one that shows two people sharing pics then realize oops i didnt want you to see my self portrait porn shots lol. Steve Jobs himself could look at those spots and go our NFC wont even need to clang two together the backs of the phones lol. What happens when u have a case on both? Those spots could be turned into comedy and could be a hurt if Apple does it better. Think different.

No opinion on the ad really. I did want to point out the cute blonde that shared a video to her hubby in the Taxi in the Samsung commercial; well the video was her banging his best friend in every way imaginable.

I really liked the add. But it really hit home with me because I'm away from home at Christmas. Glad the wife and kids are with me but missing the rest of the family.

Ya, kids should tell their parents "I simply wants a smaller iPad because it fits my lifestyle." It sounds so classy. .... Few months later, kids will tell their parents "I need new eyeglasses."

In my previous post I replied to v0lume4, I said " I don't like this CHEAP Apple TV ad because it targets at little girl's parents and old man. It's not cheap to advertise on TV, can Apple come up with something better for broader audience and products? "

What you've just written is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read your comments. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Apple is losing steam:(.

Why would Apple release a cheaper product to replace a more expensive product? I don't get it. Maybe it's a good idea to lower down the revenue.

This is a cheap TV ad, I don't like it..... It suggests that old man should better use an iPad. Is it because it will be too difficult for an old man to use OSX or old man has no money to buy a 27" iMac.

Why does the girl not use a full size iPad? Parents are cheap?

One more time, this is a CHEAP TV ad:mad:

Get with the times. Normal people don't need a 27"–screen–12–core–32GB computer to check their e–mail, surf the web and talk to their friends and family.

People will buy the iPad mini for their own reasons, maybe because it's smaller or maybe because it's cheaper.

I don't get why people make a fuss about Samsung's bumping feature, when there's been an app for that on iOS for a couple of years now.

Because they'll likely sell two (more or less) of the mini for each replaced iPad?

Take a little hit per unit, make up for that by selling a lot more units.

It isn't rocket science, nor is it a new concept in marketing products.

In my original post, I made comment on the Apple TV ad. I have no intention to offence other people regarding their purchasing decisions.

In your opinion, if a person uses a 27"–screen–12–core–32GB computer to check e-mail, he/she is not normal.

I'd be the first say I think this is brilliant. It's sweet, and oh so simple.

I agree with your assessment of this commercial!

What would be your gut level impression of the ad if it was a boy instead of the girl?
Would it be less memorable? Less interesting? Less ____?

It seems like almost every commercial that wants to be positive and use children chooses girls instead of boys as if girls are "better." The only positive commercial with a boy I can remember is the Darth Vader kid Super Bowl car commercial a few years ago.

When politicians make commercials telling us to worry about future generations they always show girls instead of boys as if girls are somehow more valuable, that we should care more about girls than boys.

If it were more even representation, I wouldn't care, but overall they seem to imply that girls are good and boys are bad. This bothers me!

I don't think I wrote long and confused paragraph. I only wrote few sentences, that's about it.

Believe me I would never be caught dead bumping my iPhone with anyone else's. ;). Completely lame. Oh and I don't need Santa and Mrs. Clause to be "edgy". If Apple's commercials are boring because they're not "edgy" enough fine with me. :)

Do you use Siri? Cause talking to ones phone Is in the same completely lame category..... But hey people do it.
