If you go to a 4S from the 5, the thing you'll notice most is probably the smaller 3.5" screen

Is variety your only concern? Compare the features and specs and pick what suits you best. Try reading other "5 versus 4s" threads. If you want recommendations then clarify what you're after. What do you need? Device selection is a subjective matter and that means that you need to give us info about you that helps to narrow it down to one or the other.
