Here's the problem.
Wife gets new iPod.
Put songs on it from my iMac to the iPod.
Connect it to her PC laptop.
Songs won't transfer to iTunes on her PC.

Why won't they transfer?
Can anyone give me step by steps on what to do to get the music off the iPod to her iTunes so she can pick and choose?

She would need another program to do that. It's always been that way. You could drag the songs to the Disk Use portion of the drive, and then let her add them to her library that way though.

I suggest you guys try and set up a home network. It would be beneficial so you can share your iTunes folder with her.

I guess that's why we have no luck connecting any of my apple stuff to her PC, my iPhone, iPad won't talk to her iTunes either.
What program would she need?
How do we set up the home network?
Have wi-fi now, is that part of it?

Also wonder why we can't send music from Frostwire to her iTunes.

Your devices should still pop up in iTunes, is it the latest version?

Here is the HomeGroup setup for Windows 7, and yes, wi-fi is perfect:

On the Mac side, you want to tun on File Sharing under Sharing in System Preferences. And while you're there, go into Options and check Share files and folders using SMB (Windows).

Will give all this a try right after I re-load the songs back on from the Mac.

Any ideas why Frostwire won't talk to her iTunes?

Have I mentioned I hate PC's?
Nothing is ever easy there.

I haven't touched P2P in ages, but you should figure out where it saves stuff and just drag all the files out of the folder into iTunes.

And just as a heads up, you should see her computer pop up on the finder sidebar after you set up the network, and then you just click that and then connect.

Why do I not see options the sharing?

On Windows? What version is it?

EDIT: You have to click the File Sharing on the list of options (System Preferences?).

EDIT 2: Attached a screenshot just in case.

Okay, did that, what's next?
Did set up a new folder for FrostWire and found the last download.
That's one problem solved, now I'm using my new iPad to communicate with you.

----------

Okay, just realized we've been sharing all along she's able to use my printer over the Wi Fi.
Just found some instructions on how to get music from the I pod to her pc.
I'll work on that, if I run in to any more problems I'll post again.
Thanks for all the help

That is pretty much it on the Mac side, now you have to do the HomeGroup setup on Windows.

Can't find her computer on the network, can't find out how to Get tunes off iPod, I give up.

----------

Got FrostWire to talk to iTunes, I am now brain-dead.
Now she can sync her tunes to her I phone and sync to her new car.
Thanks again.

If you both use the same broadband connection then you have a network. If you access the Internet from your Mac through WiFi, and she does the same from her PC, then you have a network.

On your Mac, in iTunes, "File" menu, "Home sharing" -> Turn on home sharing. Your library will appear on your wife's computer in iTunes.

Alternatively, buy a USB flash drive (my favorite is the Kingston SE9 because you cannot possibly lose it from a key ring), plug it into your Mac, in the Finder copy files from the Music folder to the flash drive, plug it into the PC, and in iTunes use "Add to Library" and select the music files from the Flash drive; make sure that "Copy files to iTunes Media Folder when Adding to the Library" is turned on in Preferences, Advanced Preferences before you do that.

Home sharing is on in the Mac and the PC.
I may need some new glasses, but no where do I see my stuff on her PC.
Where do I look for it? I tried the pulldowns, but didn't see anything to make it work.

Did I tell you I hate PC's?
