Wait, when did this thread turn from neat tricks and feats of Mountain Lion to OS X 10.9 feature suggestions, bugs and glitches?
Anyway, I like the trackpad gesture to open Notification Centre as well as the ability to click and drag/swipe away notifications. I also really like the somewhat hidden terminal-notifier ability you can get. Terminal is frigging awesome on Mountain Lion. UNIX ftw

In Full screen (with iTunes), and it needs to "Contact the Apple server" to check the restore, when doing a restore to an IOS device, if there is a DNS network issue, you are stuck in Full screen, since iTunes window remains in-active.

Probably mentioned in the previous 60+ pages, but in case people didn't go through all that.. there's neat feature while in Mission Control.
Using trackpad, you can thumb and three finger spread on any of the application windows and focus/expand those windows. IE if you have 10 finder windows open, it'll spread those windows open more in mission control view. |

Every time I boot/restart my mbp, mountain lion keeps having wifi open and searching for networks, although I am always having it disabled! (I prefer ethernet connection)
Why? |

The only terminal-notifier I know of is this: https://github.com/alloy/terminal-notifier which is installing with RubyGems. It's not bundled with ML.
It's a good app though, I use it for notifying me when my commands are done running. I don't think either Terminal or iTerm comes with that feature.

This only happens for applications you get from the App Store (they must have an assigned category when they get submitted).

os x updates
They really need to fix safari because sometimes the UI doesn't work properly when disabling the "scroll direction" and when you try to scroll from left to right.
Also they need to make the OS a bit more snappier for the people who has traditional hard disk drive so it can be less stressful on the hard drive itself and also they need to update the full screen mode using multiple monitors and the random spotlight index. But other than that, the OS is really good. |

Finder issues
Small detail, but when you are scrolling in Finder window (eg Downloads folder) in List View, with lots of folders & sub-folders, when browsing these sub-folders, opening/closing them shifts the view of the Finder window back to top..
Its irritating as you must scroll back down to that particular folder again you were recently viewing.. ![]() Finder should just close the current folder, as it usually does.

Spotlight
This could be more useful for finding Duplicate files like file names, also allow wildcards, rather than relying on third-party software.

There have been 11 betas so far so it has to be getting close. My best guess is that it'll see the light of day before the end of the month, hopefully coinciding with the announcement of 10.9.

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and just have my new MBP a few days ago. I'm not sure if it's the right place to ask, but I'll ask anyway. Currently I'm using OS X 10.8.2. When I install an application, there's always a small windows and ask me to enter my password. Is there a way to disable this? Thanks in advance

I had a question about Dashboard and sorry if this has been covered but I don't have time to read the past 50 pages...
Now I just came from Leopard on my old Mac and now have a new iMac with ML of course. Now in 10.5 the Dashboard appeared over the top of what ever programs you had running. I liked this as you could say use the calculator and still see numbers you might be working on. Now with Mountain Lion (and I like Lion) it appears from the side with a plain back ground. Can it be changed so it was like before in Leopard? BTW I looked it up on Google and the most I found was how to change the background image, which I did.

Thanks, that does help, only thing now is there is no swipe action to bring up the dashboard, guess you can't have everything LOL
