The Blizzard Cometh In the N E of US

Here's a handful of snapshots of my street and kids this morning.

The snow drift across the street looks like 4 feet while the snow on my sidewalk is a lot less thanks to the wind.

My car looks to be in a snow drift of 3+ feet that you can kind of see in the last picture

Looks like a long day of work ahead- good thing the troops look willing.
Good luck- I remember the days of that much snow as a kid in Grand Rapids MI. 2 foot was a common occurance in the 70's.
 
My roof is probably 40 feet high, I my 20 foot extension ladder just gets to the second floor - plus I have a crippling heights phobia that means no raking. The pitch of my roof is so steep I'm not worried. The white house in the picture is my neighbors 🙂

Same here, went to bed thinking I wouldn't have power when I woke this morning. So far so good.
 
I don't think I'll have any problems sleeping tonight. My car and my wife's mini van were buried in a 4 foot snow drift. I have them mostly dug out and good portion of the driveway dug out. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the driving ban is still in effect.

I'll need to keep going out to stay ahead of it at this stage.

Yeah the losing power isn't so much fun, but everything else, love it. Idk I'm weird and I enjoy bad weather. Probably should have been a storm chaser.
 
Seems like it's over by me. TWC is reporting only a 10% chance of additional precipitation. Power's on so I'm pretty happy about that.

We've got 24" solid over everything with taller drifts in places. Our plow guys have apparently maintained the driveway in good shape so I can actually get out of the house via the garage no problem.

If I'm too bored this afternoon I'lll put on the snowshoes and try to dig out the front/back doors, but will leave the paths tho the guys with their snowblowers.

I'm in Brookline, MA. Got about 24+ inches. Cars are in the underground garage in my apartment complex. Can't wait to get out there once the ban has been lifted!
 
Here's a facebook picture of near where I live. The streets (not near me) are literately rivers. Luckily I'm not getting any flooding but this is less then a mile from where I am

Got about 6-8" 15 miles North of Albany. I'm in an apartment complex, by the time I woke up at 8:30 the road was plowed, right up to my garage. Tiny bit of cleanup there and the stairs/deck for my front door and I was good to go.

I just have a sidewalk to do at my parents' house, they did the rest.

For us, much hype for what turned out to be what is normally a non-issue snowstorm. All the schools closed or let out early yesterday, when I drove home from work at 3:30 the roads were only wet. That NEVER happened when I was in school, I remember walking 1/4 mile to the bus stop in 3" of snow, this time they were closed before a single flake fell!

Good luck to all those near the coast that got buried, in a way I actually wish we got that much. To all the comments on the BS of the government closing the roads, it's in everyone's interest to do so when that much snow falls. If people go out then get stuck in the middle of the road it makes it VERY difficult for the plows to clear the road.

Great photo!

I am in the 2 foot plus zone, but at least didn't have to worry about flooding. I haven't seen the news in a couple of hours, but when I last heard Scituate and some of the other coastal towns were getting some nasty flooding.

Good to know you and yours are OK. I feel for those without power...it's going to be really cold tonight.
 
20 inches or so here near Providence. Power has been out since 9pm and who knows when it's coming back. 58 degrees in the house when I woke up this morning and its not getting any warmer

I love blizzards too. I remember getting a few 3ft+ storms here in co and I can't wait for the next one

Wow that's just crazy, the sky looks like dirt and the ground is blue 😛
