The iMessage + Google Voice combo I have going on with my iPhone is saving me over $20 a month on unlimited texting, so I would agree that iMessage is amazing.

Do you have a hard time juggling people between the 2 numbers? I was trying something similar and everyone was too confused.

No, because everyone with iOS devices has my actual number, while everyone with an Android or other device has my Google Voice number.

It depends here in UK whatsapp is more popular than iMessage. So your friends and family are more likely to be on that than iMessage. It also helps that it's cross platform.
