This looks ok..
....right up until the point i read it uses Bluetooth or tethered to you iPhone, and connect over Wi-Fi on order to successfully use this thing.
Theres goes your data
As if people don't already have huge bill they over-see after they roam internationally, this will only add further to this, because the mind set is "This is soo cool"
This will be changed to "this soo sux" when they get their bill from their carrier
This reminds me of picture-in-picture...... that didn't really find it in todays TV's
How is this any different? to the fact that "The only reason why keeping this alive is people are demanding its just "cool factor"
And this, just only we have a piece of existing technology, but now its part of something, like glass, we never had before, suddenly makes it "I want one".
Not interested. but it looks good..
Another thing, this will only further go via the privacy thing..
see, now your being silly....
This is a must buy and my first google product as I am big apple user however i wish you can answer calls coming from your smart phone while driving on googles glass.
Same could be said of a smartphone.
All it does is perform basic mobile functions.
You have to click/tap at it to make it work, which will be very annoying in public.
Have you actually lifted the Galaxy S3? It's quite lightweight. You have to carry around a brick.
They were pretty expensive.
Pretty sure that the price will go down, and... well, Glasses are literally omnipresent smartphones you can access without having to pull them out of a pocket. Big appeal if you ask me.
Just my opinion mind you but this is one of the dumbest products ever.
If Apple came out with it you would love it
I think even Apple couldn't distort reality that much to make this seem like a worthy product. They are not that good.
most of the public at large disagrees with you and thinks Glass can be a major innovation.
In fact, the only people down on this seem to be Apple fanboys and possibly Microsoft fanboys.
How bout that?
An opinion cannot be wrong.
Says who?
Just my opinion mind you but this is one of the dumbest products ever.
It seems to me like google is just throwing everything they can think of against the wall and waiting to see what sticks. Let's look at this objectively:
- It performs basic mobile functions and nothing else
- You have to talk to it to make it work, which will be very annoying in public
- You have to wear a very unflattering pair of glasses
- It is outrageously expensive
What, exactly, is the appeal of this device? Who is it for? Skydivers who don't want to buy one of those go cameras?
Just because Apple doesn´t show prototypes or stuff they´re currently working on years before the actual product rolls out, just like Google´s been doing it for at least a couple of years with this glasses, doesn´t mean Apple isn´t innovating behind closed doors.
Just like with the iWatch and Apple TV, I´m sure Apple is working on something similar to this glasses and some other stuff we can´t even imagine.
I see people buying these and then wearing normal glasses later on, forgetting that they're normal glasses and then yelling "GOOGLE!!!!! TAKE A ********** PICTURE NOW!" in the middle of a crowded street. Now that would be something hilarious and awesome to post on youtube after it happens.
It is my opinion that 1+1=4.
Not sure if the idea of the distraction of these for drivers is the worst, or the privacy issue, or the weird borg look.
The real reason this was made is... Porn.
Innovation is only innovation when it actually makes in impact on society for the better. This idea was around decades ago. There were college students at MIT, etc. that had portable computers with eye glasses. All these things are going to do is cause problems. What kinds of problems? If you buy these things, expect to get them stolen from you or your a$$ kicked. Most people don't want to have some loser with a video camera facing them while they talk to someone. How do you get the user to take them off? If you ask nicely and they don't remove them, people might resort to just taking them off for them causing fist fights.
Apple not innovating? Fusion drives is an innovation that is USEFUL. The hybrid hard drives isn't the same thing, Fusion drives are VERY useful and that's a cool innovation.
What else has Apple done in the innovation department? Well, the iPhone and iPad are the most copied products, so those as they are are innovative.
I think that you get sucked into some Google marketing BS.
People coming out with major technology shifts doesn't happen every day, Innovations that actually make an impact on society don't come around and Apple's made HUGE impacts on the way people use computers in different industries over the years. People are used to them innovating, but right now they are evolving their innovations. I'm sure we'll see some more impactful innovations, because the innovations have to "stick" and provide a shift in how people work and live. Google hasn't really done much in the innovation area other than copy Apple.
These Glass devices is a STUPID innovation that's just gonna get the user's a## kicked and laughed at.
Or they can just simply beat the user up and easily take them. These things are probably going to cause a LOT of fist fights. Because people just aren't going to want some LOSER video taping them without permission.
Don't like a free world there tough guy? Maybe you would be better suited to just staying inside and not venturing out where the mean people in public can record you.
Satellites are watching you, street cams are watching you, security cameras are watching you, film and photo enthusiast are capturing your image, google maps has your house posted in all its first person glory.
BUT, you're all bent out of shape over the guy with the camera goggles.
So tell us, what are you going to do when someone looks at you with these glasses? Hurt them?
Slightly off.
Imagine someone is standing near you (say arm's length). It's pretty obvious if they have a rectangular box in their hands that also happens to have a camera lens on the side facing you. Google Glass? People can be much more discrete since a) coming from Android's level of customization, I bet there is some way to turn off the record light and b) it's their glasses. It's not something they have to hold up and make obvious to world that they are recording. There is also no viewfinder. It's just that little glass screen that is basically only visible to the wearer.
Because as it stands I can't think of any ways that this device will actually make things easier rather than harder.
It seems to me like google is just throwing everything they can think of against the wall and waiting to see what sticks. Let's look at this objectively:

"innovating" is easier when you are willing to throw anything at the wall and home something sticks.
An opinion cannot be wrong.
You seem to lack the understanding of what the term "vaporware" means.is this a joke?
$1500.00
and it's vapourware ....
why do companies announce products you can't buy?
