Ask for at least $200 and get him to give you $100 up front so you have something if he changes his mind.If he thinks that's too much then you didn't loose anything as you weren't really wanting to do it anyway and if he takes you up on it, great.
If you were going to get in line anyway, I would take it. If you don't plan on getting in line, I wouldn't camp overnight for $100.
I camped out for the iPhone 3G(S?) overnight at a Rogers store.
I was with a friend who held my spot as I pissed behind a dumpster out back every so often.
Activation failed (server overload), and I was sent home with a brick for about 6 hours.
Fun times.

Who is to say that when he gets there he doesn't think your place is going to be good enough to get him the phone he wants and then doesn't want to pay you? At that point, if he didn't pay you, you would have wasted 12 hours of your life, literally for nothing.

He's getting $100 to sleep outside in beautiful Southern California. Homeless bums do that every night for free. Take the money, bring your iPad and you'll be fine.
You would probably make more money by investing in some Apple stock prior to release date and cash in on a little bit of earnings.

I feel like the worlds biggest ass for doing this but I just replied to this ad on craigslist and offered this kid 10 bucks an hour to stand in line for me from 7PM to 7AM...

Last time during the 5S launch the Pasadena store had bums fight over their paid-for queue. While it was reported the news, such behavior isn't uncommon, especially around here.
Also you want to make some money? Sell them in China. Even the basic 16G 6 unlocked is selling for equivalent of 2,000 USD a pop, imagine the 128G 6+...

You got a decent deal. It's not like anyone was holding a gun to the kid's head to do it.
Assuming 14 hours to wait (6pm to 8am) its $7.14 an hour if he's offering a $100. Definitely not worth it. I don't think I would it for less than $300.

He has to sit in the humidity and heat. 200. This would cover food, gas and time.
