Seeing as the last time I posted in this thread I was on an emac with 10.4.7 on it I decided it would be time to post again with my current machine that I've had for a couple years.

Nothing to brag about, I know, but just upgraded my MacBook from 3GB of RAM to 6GB. Now it flies at what I use it for: audio editing using Adobe Audition CS5.5 (I work for a local radio station, and use this alongside my desktop).

SSD upgrade coming for the MacBook? :)

LC550 nice - I grew up using the LC575. Absolutely loved that thing..

My new toy:
Nice - but 5MB of graphics card memory? Seems a little odd...

Over there....
It's just because the x1300 isn't supported in mavericks, but who needs graphics acceleration on a server anyway :)

So nothing odd, just apple say i shouldn't be running mavericks on a '08 xserve :)

It's got one! 64GB Kingston SSDNow if I remember correctly. Not a huge amount of space, but more than enough for me. Absolutely love the little machine, it doesn't feel like it's 7 years old at all.

I got it from my elderly neighbor, who in turn got it from a local elementary school. He was going to throw it away because "it kept beating me at poker!" and I asked if I could have it instead. Sadly he passed away a few years ago; every time I use that machine I think of him and it makes me smile.

Over there....
Since I got that Xserve the 2006 MacPro that was running as my server got some upgrades to be used as my desk computer:

attachment.php

It's gone from 2 dual core 2.66ghz xeon 5150's, 6gb of ram and a 250gb spinning disk to 2 Quad core 2.33Ghz xeon e5345's, 14GB of ram, AMD 6670 2GB Graphics card and a 128GB SK Hynix Boot SSD (in the optical bay) (+ a 500GB striped raid for data)

The resualt is that it benchmarks slightley slower than my acer laptop... But it's just so much cooler than any PC :)

Any ideas why it's not showing the iMac model year, or saying yosemite?

Edit: Fixed it - Changing language from English to English UK did the trick.
