For OS 10.8 or later

Love freebee's! Unfortunately, it's only for 10.8 or later and if you have 10.6.8 like me, you'll find that out at the end of the install process!

We love PPS9. It has replaced Nik for us. Good chance we will just delete Nik when we upgrade to LR 6.

Really? Tell me more. Does it have anything like NIKs control points to create a tone mask with just a click?

Nope it does not use that metaphor for essentially creating area specific masks. In PPS9 you apply masks in all manner of shapes/sizes and do the changes inside or outside the mask. And you can create as many layers of filters and masks as you like. Nik does not do that at all.

If want to learn more about PPS 9, download the trial or go to the on1.com site and go through the training videos.

Thanks for the link, I'll have to try it out.

You might want to be careful with this "free" add-on. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that installing that Perfect Effects app also installed a DMR or anti-piracy software routine that I was not aware of. This was named "Protec 6B", the purpose of which was to check an internet server for proper DMR software credentials. According to support forum information that I found, some users reported a conflict with the OS X sleep function. This was associated not only with Perfect Effects, but with other onOne software and with software from Nik Software.

When I called AppleCare support, instructions were provided to delete all of this software, including entries in the startup items folders and other folders. This software ran a background process that was poorly written and intrusive.

Dunno if this is still a problem. I have it in my startup folder, and use the Perfect Effects and Nik software, and I could find no reference to the nalpeirond process in any of my current logs.
