I love using tabs in my browser as I tend to have several browsers opened at once. I was hoping for a tabbed Finder in Leopard, and then Snow Leopard. I wonder why they haven't done it? Did someone reserve the rights for tabbed file management??? It seems like such a useful tool, and not too hard to implement.

For now, I'm going to have to look for some 3rd party apps.

It has never been promised by Apple only on the wish list of a few forum members. I could also see issues with drag and drop between tabs.

I know that it was never promised, I"m just surprised they haven't done it. It seems like such an obvious feature enhancement.

Snow Leopard was not a feature release. Certainly not for any big UI changes anyway.

I seriously doubt Finder will ever get tabs.
Tabs and Exposé don't work together well - this is why I don't use them in Safari.

I never heard of any tabbed finder. I don't think apple ever promised or showed such a UI either. An interesting concept for sure, but not from apple.
