I Want to connect my new macbook pro that i bought last week (15-inch: 2.4GHz aluminum) to my older one from around 2008 that took a fall, the screen no longer turns on but i can hear sounds and adjust the keyboard brightness and the volume.

i want to sell the broken one for parts but before i do i want to get some files that are on the old one, and i'm new to the whole firewire thing so any help is appreciated 🙂

9-pin to 9-pin Firewire cable or 6-pin to 9-pin Firewire cable, as the 2008 pre-Unibody MBP had Firewire 800 (9-pin) and Firewire 400 (6-pin) and the Unibody models only have Firewire 800.

Thanks so much for the quick replies and link to that great site am ordering it right now!
