Too bad Amazon.com doesn't offer one of those "if you find it cheaper somewhere else within 30 days, let us know and we'll refund the difference plus 10%" deals... you could make out like a bandit. 10% of $97,000 (the likely difference) would be a cool $9,700 in your pocket, PLUS your Powerbook.

as long as you make sure to buy the RAM from Amazon as well... you figure if Amazon is saving you a bit of money on the notebook you might as well give them the order for the "higher-margin" memory 😀

No wonder people think Macs are more expensive. Why just a few weeks ago, you could buy a Sony with a P4 for $100 (also a price mistake, but it was funny).
 
Doesn't Amazon put that price in when the product price hasn't been determined yet? I remember seeing this before.

Woah... that's a huge price jump from the previous PowerBooks, and all you get is a few extra MHz, slightly larger hard drive, a fancy scrolling trackpad and Bluetooth 2.0. 😱

I have one of those that I use to pay for work expenses, $10-$12K per month. I get a $25 Amazon gift certificate for each $2500 spent. I have 19 of these suckers sitting around.
