Okay so we all know July is when Lion is coming out...but is there any other info about a release date? Early/Mid/Late July?

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question I was just wondering.

Duff-Man says...well yeah, don't you think that when there is a firm release date that Apple will have that on their website and there will be at least a hundred threads here about it? Until then it seems like just another thread that should be headed to the wasteland....oh yeah!

I was talking to a friend about this yesterday. We agreed that July 31st is likely given the state of DP4 and the testing time necessary for things still to be fixed and tweaked.

Just not enough time for early or mid-July.

Nope, July 16th

I'll just assume the 31st, then be happy with the early release date. Hell, if it takes them until the end of August to get everything stable, I'd rather wait.:D

Agreed, I think the end of the month is more likely then the middle of the month. I don't think the beginning is feasible given they'll probably need to button stuff up.

One advantage of going to the MAS store only, no need to release the OS to manufacturing.

With new Mac Pros and Minis due at the end of July i guess Lion will be at the end of July.

I just can't see how they can have a reliable Lion out by then.

Anyone on the forum running a book on the release date or is gambling not allowed on the forums :D?

Just wondering but has Apple ever released two products in the same week? Lion and Mac Pros?

I'm thinking that Lion could come a little before the hardware updates.

(I'm personally hoping that Lion comes July 1st :D, I'm excited. But knowing how people are saying it's not ready yet, I'm guessing mid to late July as well.)

I believe it's one of the 31 days in July.

You need to be more specific, if you want in.

Says Who?

OK, I have you down on the 1st.

I may as well put a few £'s on 1st of July. The winnings will be well worth it if it becomes a reality.

Uhh guys, the previous release date all included time to press and ship the DVD's all around the world which is of course not necessary with Lion. Technically Lion can be avaible on the MacAppStore minutes after they finished compiling the GM-Version. However i think they'll likely going to seed the GM to the devs first to see if any last minute issues appear.

DP4 is running stable here, no real bugs left, i'd say the OS is almost ready for primetime.
