Ok, that Xbook thread got me thinking, what would mac lovers buy on the PC side if they had to? I know there are mac users that have to use PC desktops, but there aren't many good PC notebook alternatives to the ti-pb. Well, heres a viable alternative.
VPR Matrix
It has a big screen, and is portable. Here are the specs:
1.8 GHz P-IV-M
15" screen (too bad its 1024x768)
30 GB HD
512 MB DDR 267 MHz FSB
DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
32 MB Radeon 7500
12.6"W x 10.4"D x 1.16"H
5.8 lb. (not bad)
10/100 and 802.11b wireless
v.92 Modem
1 firewire, 2 USB
VGA, S-Video out
Parallel, Serial, PCMICA
Multi-directional scrolling rocker button
2 volume control buttons
e-mail button, user programmable button and vpr Matrix button
Cost: about $2000
Anyway, it ain't pretty, but if you have to have a PC laptop, heres an alternative to the sony vaio line...no flaming me. This is only a suggestion for those that have to buy a PC laptop but love macs.
You can buy this laptop at Best Buy.
