Once it arrives I am upgrading the late 2012 3.4 GHz Core i7-3770 iMac's 8GB DDR3-1600 to 32GB.

I am planning to use the iMac's 8GB DDR3-1600 in a Mid 2010 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo P8800 MBP that can accept 8GB DDR3-1066.

Also can the late 2011 2.8 GHz Core i7-2640M MBP that can accept 16GB DDR3-1333 use DDR3-1600? I am asking because I want to sorta future-proof the RAM and be able to get bulk discount.

In both instances can the use of faster RAM be possible?

A decade ago SDRAM clocked at 133Mhz can be used in a system that clocks in at 100Mhz. Does this hold the same today?

Yeah, it will work since its DDR3 ram but it won't provide any additional boost in performance, i.e., it will operate at 1066
