I can't find the other one, but it had a few chapters on virus protection for OS 7 and onwards.

I know many people have had many issues with it but calling it maleware seems strong. Apple even sells a version of it so you can't rip Best Buy without ripping Apple.

As I said, many people have had many problems with it. I'd expect the rules to be bad. I just doubt Apple is selling malware.

Referring to it as malware is called exaggeration for effect. It ties into the system like AOL used to root around windows.

MacKeeper isn't technically malware. It's more like UselessWare and potentially ProblemWare. Avoidance of it and similar apps is highly recommended.
