I can deal with internet forums displaying such levels of a cult of personality, however, if Apple were to alter their logo in such a ludicrous manner, I might just have to officially abandon ship.

P.S.: Though I do think that the altered logo is a nice tribute to the late Steve Jobs

Seriously? Apple already has a reputation for being a cult - that's not going to help! Plus Jobs isn't/wasn't a God - will people please stop worshipping him like he was one. He was a man, had good points and bad, and sadly died young.

No, sorry but apple is not Steve Jobs and since he's now dead it makes it morbid. Also consider that the logo implies that Apple is looking back and not forward which gives the message that apple's best days are behind them with the passing of Jobs

Not to mention the added cost of the additional detail in the proposed new logo. People often say that the "Apple tax" is paying for the logo, but in this case the level of detail would actually increase cost for very little (if any) gain.

Even the Pear logo is three cutouts instead of two.

Steve jobs specifically said he didn't want apple to refer to him when making product decisions etc.

Steve jobs wasn't the absolutely amazing god that many apple fans make him out to be.

Agreed, putting Jobs' face on the logo is a terrible idea.
