The marketplace forum is open to members who have been here for 6 months and have 250 posts, those that don't qualify do not see the forum - its hidden from view for them.

Counting down the months until I can get into the Marketplace, eager to check it out! Damn time going slow...

Just curious - why is there a 6 months/250 post requirement to see the marketplace?

It is a reward for those who actively contribute to the forum.

Basically it's to ensure people who use the marketplace have some rep of sorts.

Also it's both 6 months and 250 posts minimum.

It gives a bit more confidence for buyer and seller ... Not a bad thing and a good differentiator to eBay and others ...

When posting items for sale, is there a requirement to provide links to feedback, such as from eBay, Amazon, Heatware, other forums, etc, in the listing? Naturally, I'd check myself, but I don't have access to that forum yet.

^^ this
This is to reduce scams etc and give people a bit of confidence in the seller. Although you meet the time criteria, your 63 posts is a good way short.

Your answer is listed in the FAQ and also, searching the forums will give you tons of threads on this.

In short, no, no marketplace for new members.

Seniority is based on time you have been a member and how many posts you have made, not your age!

Yes, members can sell here, but before they can they must meet certain requirements.

You do not qualify and therefore do not have access to view it.
