When i switched from my MBP previous gen to ulta book (MBP-R) (same would apple to all Apple ultabooks) I found Apple removed a few important thingsm namely the following :-

- No Sleep indicator
- No battery LED and button on side

I used these all the time for convenience, particularly the sleep indicator one can tell when it pulses its in sleep. but how can you tell on the Retina if the user just lets the mac sleep on its own accord?

Simple answer there' s no longer a way to determine the state of the rMBP visually like there used to be.

I too miss the light that pulsated when it was in sleep mode. No so much the battery indicator.
