Coping files to Windows format Ext HD

Running 10.9.4 I have a couple of files I want to save to an external HD that is windows NT format. In the past I was able to save to windows based drive. When I try to move the files now to the external drive it won't let me.

Any ideas?

OS X can read NTFS, but it does not have the ability to write, i.e., add files, or delete files. You'll need something like NTFS for Mac or use exFAT volumes instead of NTFS
