Need HELP. iTMS says keychain is invalid

I keep getting the same message when I try to sign in to iTMS. it reads

"iTunes could not connect to the music store. The requested keychain is invaild. Open Keychain Acess and run Keychain First Aid then try again"

also on a seemingly unrelated topic
Mail and I are at war I cannot recieve any mail because every time i try to get mail it tells me that it is "Unable to verify SSL server Pop.Gmail.Com......blah"

I checked the apple support forums and found someone else who had the same problem. They solved it by going into their hard disc/libraries and removing the keychain folder and dragging it to the desktop, entering password when it was asked, and rebooting. they had the gmail problem and the iTMS problem

That didnt do it for me. nor did it the next four times. So I come to you.

I've ran the keychain first aid a whollle lot of times and it is happy as can be. Ive even repaired my disc permission a few times. I dont know what to do.

look in:

~/library/keychain/ delete what's in there. (That's in your home folder)

also in /library/keychains/ delete that file also. (That's in your HD root)

Has the exact same problem on an iBook. That fixed it.
 
well mr mac that didnt solve my problem. I deleted everything inside those keychain folders and nothing was fixed. so i rebooted and the problem remains.
 
Trash your itunes preferences...

to do this, do a quick search of itunes on your hard drive.

everything with .plist can go to the trash.

You'll have to redo eq adjustments, etc...
 
This is weird since by deleting the plist files, and the keychain files, this should force it to recreate these files, thus eliminating the problem...

let me check this, be back in a few minutes...
 
Thanks Again! If it makes a difference im on an Intel Imac...first mac and im loving it up until right now...rawr.
 
alright.

Here's what i think should solve this issue.

First, delete the files in the /library/keychains/ everything in there. (should ask for an admin password, type it)

then delete the files in /system/library/keychains/ (Should ask for an admin password again.)

Delete the itunes .plist files in ~/library/preferences/ (home folder)

Then delete the files in ~library/keychains (should not ask for a password)

Then log out, then back in.

Open up keychain access.

type in a NEW password.

Try that and see...
 
New message in itunes

I ran first aid and it verified

Verification started

Checked login keychain
Checked default keychain
Checked contents of ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain

Error: /System/Library/Keychains/X509Anchors could not be found. Without it, many applications will be unable to establish secure network connections.

Problems were found; you should choose the Repair option to fix them
Verification failed

then when i tried repair

Repair started
Checking keychain configuration for CamsStuff (user ID=501)
Home directory is /Users/CamsStuff
Checked login keychain
Checked default keychain
Checked contents of ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain

Error: /System/Library/Keychains/X509Anchors could not be found. Without it, many applications will be unable to establish secure network connections.

Unable to restore /System/Library/Keychains/X509Anchors. You will need to manually copy it from another machine, or reinstall the system software.

Warning: some problems were not fixed
Repair failed

Appears that the X509Certificate and X509Anchors files were corrupted.

We replaced them and it works fine now!

Error with X509Anchors

Hi there,
I keep getting this error too:

Error: /System/Library/Keychains/X509Anchors could not be found. Without it, many applications will be unable to establish secure network connections.

Usually when trying to access iTunes music store, very frustrating i agree!😕
Have not been able to work it out, please help!
 
X509 files

The anchor files are corrupt and need to be replaced.

You need to manually delete the files and replace them with new ones.

These files are located in /system/library/keychains/

unzip the attached file and take the files from the folder and put it in there.

You can get them off my mirror site at:
