Anybody tried running OS9 on the NEW PowerMacs?

Anybody tried OS9 ON the NEW PowerMacs?
I have some pci cards that need OS9, someone over at the Digidesign site said that the new Macs would run OS 9,
someone musta tried it right?
I'd like to get the dual 1.25, $2k is a nice price.

can't say I've tried it, but apple specifically stated that the firmware was changed (streamlined is the term I think they used) so that OS 9 booting is impossible. Only those machines sold as being OS 9 bootable will work (which are just the old machines that are still being sold)

Yeah just get the Os 9 Model from apple it is 1.25 dual GHZ.
Old models same stuff.

But does anyone know what happens if you try to installl OS 9 on a new Powermac. Does anything special happen?

I believe it is installed, so you can use Classic, you just can't boot. Which should mean that nothing would happen.
