I've had 2 MacBooks so far and they both had the moo. The first one was worse, though, but it was the one that constantly over-heated so that may have something to do with it. The second one mooed, but it was faint and happened infrequently.
Mine moos very quietly when it can't cool properly. This usually happens when I'm using it on my lap, tilted back slightly. I guess the hot air can't escape the vent so easily (being that it rises and all) and so the fans have to kick in. I also get it a bit when using the machine on a pillow or a blanket.
I think it's only noticable because it's dead silent otherwise.

Glad to say No. I think i'm one of the few who have a perfect macbook. Makes up for my goddamn REV A powermac G5 which is on its 4'th Apple repair, with issues from CPU death to latest Logic Board Failure......

No issues with my white 2.0 Ghz MacBook at all, thus far.

I usually have my A/C window unit on in one room, an oscillating fan on high in the other room and my Onkyo 5.1 on some tv show/game/dvd pretty much all the time I'm at home. Also when I'm on it I'm almost always using headphones.
Mine is moo-free. The only issue that has come up is the buzzing power adapter; however, I've heard that it's not really all that uncommon among computers, so I'm not really worried about it. Count me as another happy MacBook owner!
No mooing here, the Power supply sometimes makes a slight noise and the fans occasionally switch on, but its still a very very quiet laptop, even the fans firing up aren't that loud....

so i just got a 2ghz white macbook a few days ago and im thinking of returning it.. originally i didnt hear the whine, but once i plugged it in the power brick sizzled and whined very loudly! then i noticed that the magsafe connection area also whined! and yes.. it does have the mooing. its not too hot though--once it gets warm it initially feels a little toasty on my bare lap, but once the heat registers its not so bad (you know, like when you shower and turn the water temperature up or try to get into a hot tub?).
has anyone returned their macbook because of these issues? mooing to be exact. im just not sure if theyre going to deny me of a 10% restocking fee free return... hm... what to do?

mine didnt moo at first too. but once i started doing more things on it, bringing it up to about 64-69 degrees it started mooing, only inbetween those temperatures though. you can monitor your temps by using either "coreduotemp" or "temperature monitor". i like using the latter because you can save a picture of the graph.
for those of you who have never heard the mooing sound, here it is. ive recorded it with the built-in mic. it starts about 10seconds in.

i'll have mine next week, but a friend of mine got his saturday. it doesnt moo or make any other noises. it doesnt get hot, neither does the powerbrick. perfect in every respect.

i cant hear a thing when my macbook is on, unless i run a few programs to get the CPU working and put my eat very very closely to the back. Its running very quiet and i couldnt be happier with it. OT it does get a little warm, but as im writing this, its 51 degrees C with just web surfing and ichat. generally it idles around the mid 60s.

OMG that does sound like a cow!!!!!!! I don't think I could live with that. Especially in a smalroom lecture hall...that would be hella annoying to everyone.
