Safari and the other Apple Apps (iLife, etc.) have a "blue" color after the update. It's really stressing.

Anyone?

Thanks,

Roco

Maybe bluish is not how it is said.

What I mean is that everything has a blue color.

But that is also very strange

I don't understand what this bluish color is. A screenshot maybe?
a screenshot probably wouldn't show it, cause its a problem with the monitor calibration, not the system... if you know what I mean...

I need a fix for this ASAP too. I'm on the phone with Apple, on hold, right now. If they can help me, I will post back here again.

Please wish me luck.

Have they been able to help you?

I'm starting to get used to this "blue" color, but I prefer like a thousand times more the normal one.:)

Im experiencing this too on my MB.

My color profile is fine. It's on Color LCD--calibrated it as well. Still the ugly blue tint. Ugh.

Everything system wide now has a sort of blue tint over it. Safari, mail, everything. It doesn't look like a problem with the color profiles since mine is perfectly fine.

Hmm. It seems to be a different kind of problem because that picture looks absolutely fine on my display. I'm running 10.4.8.

Everything in that screenshot looks fine to me. Where's the blue? Where's the top part?

Here too. Roco, is everything in your system this new shade, or just the iApps?

Can you look at the screenshot in Firefox and see if it looks blue?

Where the back, forward, reload, stop, adress bar are located. There's where the change is more easy to notice.

I think it's his backlight acting funky. Maybe a bit darker in a certain place and a bit lighter in a certain place. :S

If you have a digital camera, take a picture of your computer and monitor and post it here, because for whatever reason, we're seeing the image as OS X should be. :S

Great idea. If someone can take a picture with a digital camera, we can see exactly what they are talking about.

Just got off the phone with the Apple support person. She had me do all the basics like check and repair the disk from booting up with the OS X cd... then reset the PRAM... but still not fixed.

Next we made a new user account, "Test", and as far as I could tell this new user account when logging into it did NOT have the blue tint issue. I'm losing confidence in my own eyes now as I've been staring at this light bluishness... but I am pretty sure that this new account looked totally fine. So- my affected accounts were the standard user account I was running during th e update... and also my main admin user account.

She then had me drag my Preferences folder to the desktop, log out, and then log back in. The screen seemed to look fine at this point! SO WEIRD. So, after transfering me to a "specialist" for a second opinion, I talked with him for awhile and he is convinced that it's an incompatibility issue with one of my 136 preference files. :(

So basically my choices according to him are, re-setup all of my preferences and toss the old folder now on my desktop... or drag each preference file from the old one back into the new current one, ONE BY ONE and logging out and back in each time to find the culprit.

My head hurts. I'm gonna think about this awhile and keep pokin around for a better answer. I hope this helps generate some new thoughts in you other affected people.

Can anyone [with better eyes than me] confirm a new user account looks good?

I feel so silly having a hard time telling now... but maybe I'm just getting dazed. And now I'm paranoid kind of, and just want things back how they were... :p

Under System Preferences->Displays, under the Color tab, what setting is shown? Screen shot of the window?

If it does all appear to be set right, run the ColorSync Utility in Applications/Utilities, and from there try Profile First Aid. Are the results okay?
