AT&T and Apple Announce Simple, Affordable Service Plans for iPhone
Tuesday June 26, 8:30 am ET
All Plans Include Unlimited Data & Visual Voicemail

ATLANTA and CUPERTINO, Calif., June 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T Inc. and Apple® today announced three simple, affordable service plans for iPhone(TM) which start at just $59.99 per month. All three plans include unlimited data, Visual Voicemail, 200 SMS text messages, roll-over minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling. With everything else already included, iPhone customers can easily choose the plan that's right for them based on the amount of voice minutes they plan to use each month. In addition, iPhone customers can choose from any of AT&T's standard service plans.

"AT&T has the largest voice and data network in America, the largest mobile-to-mobile calling community and the fewest dropped calls," said Randall Stephenson, chairman and CEO, AT&T. "AT&T has invested more than 16 billion dollars in its wireless network between 2005 and 2007, and iPhone customers will enjoy the best voice and data network in the nation."

"We want to make choosing a service plan simple and easy, so every plan includes unlimited data with direct Internet access, along with Visual Voicemail and a host of other goodies," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "We think these three plans give customers the flexibility to experience all of iPhone's revolutionary features at affordable and competitive prices."

All iPhone plans include Visual Voicemail, an industry first, which allows consumers to see a listing of their voicemails, decide which messages to listen to, then go directly to those messages without listening to previous messages. Just like email, Visual Voicemail on iPhone enables users to immediately and randomly access the messages that interest them most. Unlike most wireless plans that charge additional fees for new features, there are no additional fees for Visual Voicemail.

So...

In other words, it seems that the data plan was an additional $20 on top of the calling/voice plan.

This is a great deal! yay!

Wow. At this rate, I'll make up my $200 Tmobile early termination fee in about a year and change... I'll have slightly fewer minutes, but I'll have rollover to make up the slack.

It's just going to stink throttling myself the first month to build a buffer when all I want to do is use the phone.

Nice! These plans seem great in price.

Also something to note:

"Minimum new 2-year wireless service plan and activation fee required to activate iPhone features, including iPod; plans are subject to AT&T credit approval."

iPhone is locked up without activation..

About where I thought they would be, I wish they would've put out family plan pricing with the PR. Oh well, I'm sure it will be out sometime today.

unlimited nights and weekends? without that, I will be forced to the 900 minute plan. Does'nt look as good now, but I pay 80 bucks a month for verizon now with 450 minutes, unlimited data for my pos q. Somehow though, there are all these nickle and dime things on there that make it a 'minimum' of 95 dollars.

nevermind. just saw the 5000 nights and weekends which will be plenty. Wow, my monthly cost will actually be going DOWN!

Ooo, $80 for a family plan. That's doable.

I guess this begs the question...my wife won't be getting an iPhone. Will she still get unlimited data on her phone as part of the family plan?

I knew it! There was no way it was going to be $35-$45 dollars just for data. Apple would have shot themselves in the foot if that were the case. Whew, this is a big relief. Awesome, awesome price. That is barely more than what i pay now for just voice with AT$T!!

I wish the middle plan included more text messages. I don't send too many, but I do get alot from my home automation and a work monitoring system.

You would think they could of done 200 msg, 500 msg, unlimited based of the price.

Only 200 text messages? Where is the unlimited? I probably send more than that some months.

Those are pretty good prices considering that you also get data included. I wish I could AT&T service where I live. I'm stuck with s hitty Verizon with their restricted phones that you can't do anything with beyond making a simple phone call and taking one.
