Load 25 more messages...

I searched for this, but came up with nothing.
I have an email message in my inbox (red circle with a 1), but when I click on Mail it says Load 25 more messages...which I click, but nothing happens.

I've accessed mail before, so I know it does work, but right now, for whatever reason, it is not working.

Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks.

me too

yes i'm having that too-it's very odd. it keeps saying "Load 12 new messages" or some random number, i push on it and nothing happens. if i do get new email, the number i get is nothing near that message. and it just won't go away either! not sure what to do with it/what it means/etc

I think it's the option to allow it to load/view more emails that you already have. So far, I don't have 25 message to see!

If you look at the bottom of the screen when you first open the Mail application, it will show that it's updating. When it's finished it will show when it was last updated.

It may limit itself to uploading 25 messages at a time. So it shows that message to allow you to hit your POP/IMAP server again.

Something like that...

I don't get. It worked originally, and I didn't change anything. Guess I'll have to call Apple.

I don't get it either. Let me know what happens. It didn't do this when I first started using the email app either-but now it won't go away and it seems to do nothing.

I have had the same error twice and did two complete reinstalls & it still shows up - very weird.

I just purchased 2 phones and have this issue

The account verifies fine on both and can send emails fine on both. Cannot receive on either. Both iPhones have the message "load 25 more messages."
I've done resets, removed account and re-entered account information but nothing changes. I've called Apple and they want me to un-install and re-install the phone's OS and start over. I haven't done this yet because I don't believe it would happen on both phones. Anyone have any other tips? The server is an exchange server with IMAP and POP enabled. I don't have any problems with RIM or other types of handset devices accessing email.

the same thing happens to me on my phone. i notice that when i delete messages from my trash and sent mail, the number goes down but never seems to ever go away. This is pretty irritating! i hope this will be fixed by a software up date.

On my account, it looks like the number includes messages that have been read, and messages that are in the trash, sent mail, and the ISP spam folders. When I logged into my account through the web interface, I deleted every message, then checked on the phone and the "Load 25 more messages" went away for me.

At first I thought that was the cause for me as well. But, on my Yahoo Mail account, I continue to get a persistent "load 17 more" in my iPhone inbox. I have deleted everything the web version of that account, and directed the SpamGuard to delete rather than "save for a month."

Mine wasn't a Yahoo account. On my Yahoo account, the odd numbers stay there.

I have 3 mail accounts on my iPhone. Both my Yahoo account and my ISP account (Cox Cable) have the "odd numbers." Mac mail does not.

Guess I'll just stop worrying about it. As far as I can tell, it is not impacting anything. Just sort of odd.

If you use pop and smtp make sure that "Authentification" is "Password" selected.

After that the same problem was solved on my iphone.
