This is so incredibly random, but I was just noticing as I was playing some music in iTunes that in coverflow view, the album I was listening to came up as a black box. But in the bottom left corner where the artwork is also displayed, it looked normal.

Is this just a bug or what?

did you get this on your ipod aswell (if you have one of course :p)?

i had the exact same thing but the artwork was there on itunes but not on my ipod......just a black box......

I have the exact same problem. Fine in itunes, both my 5g ipod and 3g nano have black boxes for album art. The songs artwork was straight from itunes get album artwork features. Only one song that i have seen has this. Very annoying. Pretty sure this happened with the itunes update.(on vista just in case it's OS specific)

i found many more albums with this problem in my library. These are albums that were fine before!

it looks to me like the image file you have as the artwork is too small to be displayed properly in the coverflow view. try finding a larger image and it should fix the problem.

I don't think so, because it's always worked fine before. It just randomly started doing this, even though I've always had the same size image. Good thought though :)

did a restore on my 3g nano and it fixed the problem on the ipod side. Have no answer for the itunes problem though.

When you command+I to Get Info is there artwork in the tab? I would copy/paste the artwork here.

When I have this on my iPod, I need to reset it and it works again (menu+middle button). Maybe you can do this

Quit iTunes > Delete the folder 'Album Artwork' in the iTunes Music folder > start iTunes again > Load all artwork.

Think that should do it.

There's been corruption. I suggest navigating where I told you. Copying the Artwork to Desktop then dragging it back into that box.

Fix For Black Album Art Cover

If you look on your ipod and have a black box where your album art should be but in itunes it shows the cover this is how i overcame it. At first I would try putting the album cover back on, but this does nothing. I ended up buying copytrans and copying the album off my ipod to a folder on my desktop. Then i went into itunes and the music folder on my ipod and deleted the album. Then drag and drop the album ftom the desktop and it works...

I had almost the same thing, but I saw white boxes instead. I deleted the offending artwork and added it again, now it's fine.
