New MBP owners: Post your LCD color profiles...

I figured we could start a thread to where everyone can post their LCD color profiles on the new MBP. there was a similar thread on the previous MBPs that was extremely helpful to people like myself.

with that being that, please post your LCD profiles and of course a download link as well.
 
I made this with my Spyder3 today for medium room light; about 125-150 (backlight 2 down from the top).

I think it looks good; the factory calibration was quite cold.

9C85 PANEL -- probably will not look so good on a 9C84

I tried to put that profile in my profile section but for some reason it won't let me choose it.

what am I doing wrong?
 
TheHoff, are you sure you grabbed the right file? That one looks identical to the stock profile on my machine.
 
Macintosh HD/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays



Drop it there^ You might need to uncheck "Show profiles for this display only" to see it.
 
Would also help to differentiate by LCD panel.. 9C84 or 9C85 or ... ;) I'm thinking about investing in a colorimeter to make my own..
 
i have the 9C84 pannel and i actually found a profile from the sr profile thread... and it makes my pannel just look plain sick!

i forget which one it is...

9C84 Display gamma 2.2 and Native and 6500K

Here are two of mine. Done with the 9C84 display, gamma of 2.2, and white points of native and 6500K. I would recommend the native white point one, it's what I use.

These were done with an x-rite eye one 2 hardware calibrator and Coloreyes Display Pro software.

I like one of the ones that you've posted. it's not 100% of what I'd like but it damn sure looks 1000 times better than the stock profile that looked like garbage IMO.

Gamma 2.2. 9C84 display. Native White Point.

Spyder2Pro calibrator.

Seems less red compared to others posted.

My screen is a 9C84, here is mine calibrated with an Eye one, at I think 2.0 Gamma

Aloha everyone,

This may sound like a stupid question, but how can I verify whether or not I have the 9C84 or 9C85 panel? I checked System Profiler, but didn't see anything like that in the Graphics/Display section.

I've just set mine up using a Pantone Huey Pro, i was quite happy with the result but since trying a few that have been posted on here its very yellow in appearance.

The problem is i can't make my mind up which i prefer. When switching between them it does look far too yellow, but after a few mins away from the screen its looks ok again to me. :confused:

I'll post the profile when i can work out where it's saved.

You're right, your eyes will adjust to a wide range of white points once you look at a monitor long enough.

Having your screen look 'good' to you is one thing, but how accurately it is profiled is primarily for keeping the same look from screen to print. So do you ever make prints? If so, see how the profiles look through your printer and see which best matches what you'd like to see on paper.

After trying a few of the profiles posted, one looks too red, one looks too light with too much contrast and another looks too bright / cold (although i do quite like this one).

I've just posted mine, but i will try some prints later on and see what the results are like.

Yours is definitely warmer than mine but I'm not sure of your panel #.
