What Macs have you always wanted?

No Macs they still sell because just about everybody on here wants that

I have always wanted a:

20 inch iMac G4 - Best design by Apple ever.

Titanium PowerBook G4. Why? I just have always liked those. I even had one for about a month with broken hinges. I still used it (as my main Mac) with the broken hinges.

Black MacBook - any model Why: it would be great for web browsing on the go because it is so small and a MBA is underpowered (rev A) and has a non replaceable battery and a hinge issue. Also the MBA would be more of a thief target.

2.33 GHz MacBook Pro Why: It is the fastest non unibody MacBook Pro with a reliable graphics card.

Apple I, IIs and Lisa's count too!

I have one of those - I have to agree, it's fabulous. I wish I could get a new one with updated guts - maybe that's a potential mod project. :-)

Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh: just want to see one in the flesh.

Gonna have to go with the 20" iMac G4. It would also be pretty cool to have a 12" PowerBook G4. As for current Macs, I want a 15" Unibody MBP.

And a PowerBook G5.

I'm amazed at the number of people who want Quad G5s. I wanted one myself until I had to service them. Never seen so many hardware failures on one model before. It's a shame, too, because those things are still pretty bitchin' machines beyond the whole reliability thing.

Mac Pro with:
Two 2.93GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
At least 8gb of RAM but I'd prefer 32gb
Mac Pro RAID Card
4 1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s
4x NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB
2 18x SuperDrives
2 Apple Cinema HD Display (30" flat panel)
Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse
Apple Wireless Keyboard (English) and User's Guide
AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi Card with 802.11n
Mac OS X server

Quad-channel 4Gb Fibre Channel PCI Express card (I might decide to run my own server)

I'm accepting donations LOL Just Kidding

I want one but my wife would kill me..... Last year before I was a MAC guy I built a crazy PC that is very similar in specs but I wish I never would have because I would have got this computer. I still to this day am kicking myself in the a$$ for not buying a Mac Pro instead. Oh well we live and we learn but mark my words I will get one someday.

Macs destroy PCs in my book. I wish someone would have said something to me a long time ago to check out Macs.

I almost bought my Macbook Pro with the 2.93 processor but it was the first Mac I've ever owned. Now I kinda regret it. I had a really old Apple desktop my brother gave me in 94 but it was REALLY old. Other than that I've never touched a Apple/Mac until 6-8 months ago and I'm so glad I did.

For older hardware....
  • 15" Ti Powerbook
  • Powerbook Duo 270c
  • 12" Powerbook G4 (was my favorite for a while)
  • 20" iMac G4 (last gen...beautiful hardware)
  • iBook G3 (Special Ed. Graphite)

I just got my uMBP so I'm pretty content w/ what I've got.

Macs I liked the most:
* Powerbook 190c - great system (some might disagree), Fantastic screen, PCMCIA, clickable trackpad. The case fell apart though, so it had to go.
* Pismo 500 Mhz (have a 400 with a 500 chip at the moment. Great system)
* AlBook 12" - fantastically portable system for the time. (Had two, my 867 got stolen, got a 1.5 Ghz as a replacement from insurance, but I had already bought a 17" 1.5 Ghz very cheaply instead and stuck with that)
* Unibody MacBook - looks great and works nicely (current main system)
* C2D 2.33 Ghz 15" MacBook Pro (just sold a 2.16, but I always wanted the 2.33 for the extra VRAM).

Macs I want the most:
* TAM of course!

Macs I was disappointed with that I have owned that people might be envious of. Really, don't be!:
* Powerbook Duo 2300 prototype (Sooo slow, even compared to a 1400)
* Powerbook 1400 (Didn't seem too reliable, had the 133,166 and a 117 prototype at one point, the 166 was good, but they all died apart from the 117)
* Pippin (useless - couldn't get any games for it)
